Day 1: Never Underestimate Your Opponent

Reading: 1 Peter 5:8-11

Devotional: The Israelites at Ai learned a painful lesson: overconfidence leads to defeat. Peter warns us to "be alert and of sober mind" because our adversary prowls like a roaring lion. Victory at Jericho didn't guarantee victory at Ai. Similarly, past spiritual wins don't make us immune to future attacks. The enemy is real, strategic, and relentless in his mission to steal, kill, and destroy. But here's the hope: God is greater. When we remain vigilant, humble, and dependent on God's strategy rather than our own assessment, we position ourselves for sustained victory. Don't let yesterday's triumph become today's pride. Stay alert, stay humble, stay connected to the Coach who never loses.

Reflection: Where have you become overconfident in your spiritual life? What area needs renewed vigilance today?
