Day 1: Running the Wrong Way
Reading: Jonah 1:1-3 -- God calls Jonah to go to Nineveh, but Jonah flees in the opposite direction.
Devotional: There are moments when God calls us toward something uncomfortable and our first instinct is to run. Jonah was not running toward something better. He was running away from something harder. We do the same thing -- avoiding the conversation, the relationship, the act of service that God has placed clearly in front of us. The direction we choose reveals what we truly trust. Turning away from God's call never leads to peace. It only leads to a longer, harder road back. Today, consider what you have been avoiding. What would it look like to simply turn around?
Personal Reflection: Is there something God has clearly asked you to do that you have been postponing or ignoring entirely?
Practical Application: Write down one thing you know God has been calling you toward. Commit to taking one small step in that direction this week.
