Day 2: Courage Over Confidence

Reading: Joshua 1:1-9

Devotional: God commanded Joshua three times: "Be strong and courageous." Notice He didn't say, "Be confident in yourself." True courage isn't self-assurance; it's God-reliance in the face of fear. Jehoshabah didn't rescue Joash because she was confident she could outsmart a murderous queen. She acted courageously despite her fear because she trusted God's purposes. Courage is the willingness to obey God even when outcomes are uncertain. It's faith in action. God promises His presence—"I will never leave you nor forsake you"—not because we're capable, but because He is faithful. Today, what step of obedience is God calling you to take, even though you don't have all the answers?

Reflection: Where is God calling you to move from confidence in yourself to courage in Him?
