Devotional: One of the most disorienting discoveries a believer can make is that following Jesus does not exempt you from storms. Jesus told the disciples to get in the boat. He was present with them. And the storm came anyway. His presence did not prevent the chaos — it guaranteed their survival through it. The disciples asked if Jesus cared that they were drowning. He was never unaware. He was never absent. He was resting in the certainty that the storm had no final authority. Whatever storm surrounds you today, Jesus is already in the boat with you.

Personal Reflection: Have you ever felt that because you were trusting God, you should have been spared from difficulty? How does this passage reframe that expectation?
