Day 2: Mercy in the Mess

Reading: Jonah 2:1-10 -- Jonah prays from inside the fish and acknowledges that salvation belongs to God alone.

Devotional: Jonah found himself in the darkest, most uncomfortable place imaginable -- swallowed, surrounded by darkness, covered in the consequences of his own disobedience. And yet, it was there that he finally prayed. Mercy does not wait for us to get ourselves cleaned up before it shows up. God met Jonah in the belly of the fish, not after he was spit out onto dry land. That is the nature of grace. No matter how far you have run, no matter how deep the consequences, God's mercy can reach you exactly where you are. Salvation, as Jonah discovered, comes from God alone.

Personal Reflection: Have you ever experienced God's mercy in a place or moment where you least expected it?

Practical Application: Spend five minutes in honest prayer today. Acknowledge where you are, not where you wish you were, and invite God into that specific place.
