Day 2: Restored But Not Fully Recovered

Reading: Psalm 51:1-12; 2 Corinthians 12:7-10

Devotional: David sang of restoration after his devastating failure with Bathsheba. God created in him a clean heart, but that didn't erase every consequence or memory. Forgiveness is complete, but recovery takes time. You can be walking in righteousness and still carry the weight of past wounds.

This truth liberates us from false expectations. Just because you're forgiven doesn't mean you won't feel fatigued by what you've endured. Paul discovered that God's grace is sufficient even in weakness—perhaps especially in weakness. Your scars don't disqualify you; they testify to God's healing power. Stop demanding perfection from yourself. God meets you in your "not yet fully recovered" place with sufficient grace for today's battle.

Reflection: What are you still recovering from? How can you extend grace to yourself today?
