Day 3: From Death to Life
Reading: 1 John 3:14 and 2 Corinthians 5:17
Devotional: The evidence that something real has happened inside you is not a feeling you had at an altar years ago. According to 1 John 3:14, the evidence is that you love. Passing from death to life produces something visible — a love for others that was not there before. And 2 Corinthians 5:17 reminds us that the new creation cannot fully arrive while you are still gripping the old one. The casket of bitterness, the weight of yesterday's guilt, the ruts of old patterns — these must go. You cannot carry both the grave clothes and the new garment. Let go of the old. The new has come.
Reflection: What old thing are you still holding onto that is preventing newness from taking root?
Application: Spend time in prayer specifically releasing one thing from your past. Ask the Holy Spirit to replace it with something new — a new perspective, a new habit, or a new posture of love.
