Day 3: Love in the Face of Betrayal

Devotional: Jesus knew. He knew Judas would betray Him for thirty pieces of silver, yet He knelt and washed his feet anyway. This is the miracle we often miss—not that Jesus served, but that betrayal didn't stop Him from loving.
The towel Jesus picked up was heavy with foreknowledge of hurt, yet He chose love. He wouldn't let Judas's sin determine His character. This is our calling: to love not because people deserve it, but because of whose we are. If your Judas can make you stop loving, he wins twice—once in the initial hurt and again every moment your heart remains changed. Who are the "other eleven" in your life that you're withholding love from because of one Judas? Don't let one person's betrayal steal your ability to love the faithful ones still standing beside you.
