Day 3: The Story Was Never About You
Reading: Jonah 3:1-10 -- Jonah preaches to Nineveh and the entire city repents and turns to God.
Devotional: One hundred and twenty thousand people turned to God because one reluctant prophet finally obeyed. The story of Jonah is often remembered as being about the fish, about the running, about the consequences. But the greater story was always about Nineveh -- a city desperate for something it did not yet have a name for. When we become so focused on our own comfort, our own preferences, and our own feelings, we miss the people right in front of us who are starving for the very thing we carry. Your obedience is rarely just about you. Someone else's story is waiting on your willingness to go.
Personal Reflection: Who in your life might be hungry for something you have been too distracted or too self-focused to offer them?
Practical Application: Identify one person this week who may need encouragement, presence, or a simple act of kindness. Do something intentional and specific for that person without waiting for the perfect moment.
