Day 4: Locating and Loving the Unchurched
Reading: Luke 15:1-7; Matthew 9:35-38
Devotional: Jesus didn't wait for people to find Him—He went where they were. He ate with tax collectors and sinners, much to the religious leaders' dismay. The reality is that millions of people who believe in God aren't part of a church family, and many would come if someone simply invited them. We can't be content with our own salvation while others remain lost, alone, or empty. Learning about the unchurched means developing eyes to see the people around us who need hope. It means being willing to step outside our comfort zones and invite someone to experience the love we've found. Statistics show that most people come to church because a friend or family member invited them. You might be the only invitation someone receives. Don't underestimate the power of a simple, "I'd love for you to come with me."
Reflection Questions:
Who are three people in your life who need an invitation to church?
What's holding you back from inviting them?
