Day 4: Victory Through Surrender
Reading: Matthew 4:1-11; James 4:7-10
Devotional: Even Jesus faced mental warfare. After His baptism and anointing, the Spirit led Him into the wilderness where Satan attacked His identity and agreement with the Father. "If you are the Son of God..." Notice: the enemy didn't deny Jesus' identity; he questioned His agreement with it. The devil comes when you're weak, tired, and vulnerable—not to drag you into obvious sin, but to pull you just slightly out of alignment. Victory comes through surrender and resistance. Jesus submitted to the Father and resisted the enemy with God's Word. The more you surrender to God in every way, the better it gets. Resist the devil and he must flee. Your calling and anointing guarantee spiritual warfare, but also guarantee victory in Christ.
Reflection: Where are you out of alignment with God's truth? What needs to be surrendered today?
