Day 5: A Church That Makes the Kingdom Bigger
Reading: Acts 13:1-3 -- While the church at Antioch was worshiping and fasting, the Holy Spirit spoke and set apart Barnabas and Saul for the work to which God had called them, and the church sent them out.
Devotional: Antioch did not just grow larger. It grew outward. The church became a sending community because the people in it were surrendered, praying, and willing to hear God's voice above their own preferences. They were not holding on to their best people -- they were releasing them for the kingdom. This is what a real love church looks like. It is not a place where people come to be comfortable. It is a place where people are transformed, connected, and then sent. The question is not just what your church does for you. The question is what God wants to do through your church, and whether you are willing to be part of it.
Reflection: Are you primarily a consumer of what your church offers, or are you actively contributing to what God wants to do through it? What is one step toward deeper involvement?
Practical Application: Pray specifically this week for your church -- not for what you want from it, but for what God wants to do through it. Ask him to show you your specific role in that mission, and then take one step toward saying yes.
